Danielle Springer is the mother of two boys Dylan and Brett, and wife to George (GL). She has always been passionate about aerobic activity and running as a means to stay healthy but found herself in need of a new gym closer to home. The ROC Fitness Center offered her just that, as well as providing her some new challenges in the evening Group X Classes that were offered. After working out in the Group X Classes for several years, she was offered the opportunity to teach in the group setting. Even though she was a little unsure and timid about actually instructing, she agreed. She became AFAA certified in Group Exercise, which, in turn paved the way for her to teach Cardio Cross Training and, most recently, ROCKSOLID Strength. Danielle continues to take great pride in what she can do to help others achieve their fitness and wellness goals within a God-loving environment, while working out with and continuing to make great new friends.
David Gardner is a very talented entrepreneur, operating his own business in home construction/improvement. He is married, with two grown children and two grandchildren. He has been interested in fitness since he was a kid. Several years ago, he began exercising on his own at the ROC Fitness Center and became very involved in the Group X classes. Finding the group exercise setting to be a good fit for him, he became AFAA certified to instruct classes and has been an instructor ever since. He most recently began teaching ROCKSOLID Strength. David continues to be a fitness enthusiast and diligent about every aspect of health and wellness in his own life. As such, he enjoys being a good steward of what God has given him by helping others along in their journeys to health and wellness.
Belinda Willmoth began attending aerobics classes at FBR in 2001, and has been teaching fitness classes for five years. She is AFAA group exercise certified, has a Pilates Mat certification from Fitour and holds a certification as a PraiseMoves instructor. She believes God has equipped her for service in the group exercise ministry and is excited to lead participants in exercises that stretch body, mind and soul. Belinda and her husband of nine years, Jeremy, have two boys. As a family, they enjoy music and love bike-riding and walking together.
Patrick Voyles began his fitness career teaching classes at the YMCA in 2001, with a certification in group exercise. There he taught cycling, cross training and Body Blast, as well as subbing for numerous other classes. He is now AFAA certified, since May of 2006, as a group exercise instructor, having taught classes with the ROC since the doors opened in February of 2004. Patrick is also employed at the ROC as a fitness trainer, where he enjoys helping people with their physical and spiritual health, while keeping himself physically fit. He has most recently
completed training to instruct ROCKSOLID Strength. He is married to Becky, and have three children.
Judy Hastings has been teaching group fitness classes for 20 years. She currently is AFAA group exercise certified. At 60 years old, Judy realizes the importance of exercise for maintaining physical fitness. Her classes are designed for those who enjoy moving to music and to incorporate all of the aspects of exercise training, including cardio, strength, flexibility and balance. Judy is active in the church drama ministry, and she and her husband Rich have two married children and enjoy leading tours to Israel.
Andrea Talbert has a background in dance thus began attending Zumba classes in the fall of 2009. It was a perfect fit so she became certified as a Zumba instructor in June 2010. Andrea initially wanted to volunteer as a fitness instructor to help her stay fit as an Officer in the Army Reserve. However, she had no idea that God was calling her to the fitness ministry for continued spiritual growth and to be a spiritual advisor for others. Wow what an important job! Andrea is a member of Concord Fortress of Hope Church in Kansas City, MO. Andrea stays busy with her two children Micah and Andrew Talbert. Carmen Kraus has been teaching group exercise classes since the spring of 2005. She has been a certified PraiseMoves instructor since May of 2007. Carmen has a background in recreation therapy and children's fitness. The ROC has allowed her to use her passions and talents to a unique advantage to serve our people through the group exercise program. She and her husband, Will, have two children. Carmen and her family have a heart for people, and you will find them actively involved in many other ministry areas of FBR and in our community.
Rashel Donegan has been teaching group exercise classes since 1998. She
serves as group exercise director for the ROC. Rashel is AFAA group exercise certified, Fitour Pilates Mat
certified, is a licensed PraiseMoves instructor and has most recently completed training to instruct ROCKSOLID Strength. Her heart for people and passion for fitness was what the Lord used to call her to a career in the fitness ministry. She and her husband, Bryan, have two grown daughters and two grandchidren. They
enjoy almost any activity together as a family, especially with their grandchildren, and have a great love for their dogs.
Kattia Mills was born and raised in Costa Rica, thereby establishing her proficiency in the traditional cultural dance. She moved to the United States in 2000, became a born-again believer in Jesus Christ at the Billy Graham Crusade in 2004 and became a United States citizen in 2006. She has been teaching group exercise classes since 2007, and earned her AFAA certification in Group Exercise in 2008. She is currently a licensed Zumba, Zumbatomic and Zumbatoning Instructor. She is married to Geoff and has three boys. She is very handy around the house and enjoys all sorts of home improvement and decorating projects, as well as keeping physically fit.
Bryan Donegan enjoys sports and physical fitness as a hobby. His love of athletics, desire to share God's word and his heart for helping people achieve overall wellness are his motivation behind volunteering in the group exercise ministry at the ROC. He became an AFAA certified group exercise instructor in May of 2006, is Fitour certified in Cardio Kickboxing, and has had several years of formal Bushidokan martial arts training. He has been teaching with the ROC GroupX ministry since May of 2006. He has most recently completed training to instruct ROCKSOLID
Strength. He is married to Rashel, and they have
two grown daughters and two grandchildren.
Natalie Pool has been teaching group exercise classes here at the ROC since 2009, and is very excited to be doing so! She has taught a beginning step class on Thursday
nights and Saturday mornings, and continues to expand her learning horizons with new genres of group exercise. She and her husband Eric, stay very busy with their three children, and are also involoved with their church in the children’s ministries, Discipleship, and AWANA.
Sherri Settle is a mother, grandmother and a newlywed, currently living in Raytown. Her blended family consists of her new husband Chuck, four dogs, five grown children and two grandchildren. After joining the ROC and losing 23 pounds several years ago, she began volunteering in the ROC office and was then approached about being a substitute instructor for the Absolutely Abs Class. She is now AFAA certified in Group Exercise and is the primary instructor for Absolutely Abs. Sherri loves the Christian environment at the ROC and the many wonderful new friends she’s made since being a part of the ROC Fitness Center Family.
Shelly Yowell is the mother of two boys, Ray Austin and Ivan Anthony, and is currently employed full-time by White River Productions here in Raytown. She loves her God, her country, her family, her Zumba and her volleyball! She moved to Raytown in 2009. Shortly thereafter, she found the ROC Fitness and Recreation Center and has been hooked ever since! She began taking Zumba with instructor Kattia Mills and had a blast! She also began losing weight as a result, which prompted her to become even more active and involved in the fitness center and gym activities. You will find Shelly at the gym nearly every day! As a result of attending Zumba with Kattia, she became inspired to learn to instruct Zumba, and is currently a licensed Zumba instructor at the ROC. She very much enjoys instructing and looks forward to furthering her education in fitness. She has lost a total of 28 pounds in just over a year and desires to share her excitement for Jesus, physical fitness and Zumba with others.
